On board Processing

PDF Print

The seismic data that are recorded onboard undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure that the highest integrity of data are delivered to the client. Standard procedures include, but not limited to, data format check, extensive noise analysis, amplitude maps, brute stacks, navigation – seismic merge check and coverage analysis. All our vessel are equipped with modern hardware running the highly sophisticated Globe Claritas seismic processing software, developed by GNS in New Zealand.

Up to sixteen CPUs of processing power are available onboard for further processing and all of our Geophysicists are experienced in the techniques of noise attenuation, velocity analysis, de-multiple and migration. We have conducted several projects to date which have included further processing. The has enabled our clients to begin their preliminary interpretation straight after the acquisition whilst waiting, normally several months, for the onshore processing to be completed.

Onshore depth migration processing is offered through our partner in Singapore.
